Hi, I'm Elisabeth.
Since 2009, You Plus Me, the creative agency I founded with Miya Hirabayashi, has focused on solving problems and bringing ideas to life. With our diverse skill sets, we've helped agencies, growing companies, and nonprofits tackle complex, multidisciplinary problems. And we've developed products, content, and communities along the way.
Recent clients include a creative talent agency, regional co-working space, social networking platform, global hospitality company, innovative social shopping platform, and a direct-to-consumer fashion/travel startup.
From 2010-2014, You Plus Me published Equals, a platform for a diverse community of 200+ contributors, including bestselling authors, journalists, and award-winning bloggers. After executing a successful crowdfunding campaign, we released a print anthology with essays by talented writers such as Erin Loechner (founder of the critically-lauded Design for Mankind), Erin Boyle (bestselling author), and Nina Sovich (author and Wall Street Journal reporter), as well as an interview with Cheryl Strayed by Randon Billings Noble. Equals is now on hiatus, but you never know when it might come back.
In my former life, I spent nearly a decade conducting research at Stanford University, Columbia University, and SRI International, a think tank acting as a global leader in research and development. I've built multi-level models with large-scale data sets, traveled the country to conduct in-depth interviews for national qualitative research studies, and analyzed political messaging and policy outcomes at the city, state, and federal levels. My work has been published by the Brookings Institution, Teachers College Press, and academic journals, among others. Because of my background, I think in terms of answerable questions and view the world through both creative and analytic lenses.
I live in San Francisco with my husband and three children.
